Brief Answer:
Acne

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and have checked the attached image. It is not a cold sore but an acne. It occurs when due to some reason the follicles get inflamed and/or the secretions of the oil secreting glands gets blocked and infected. Wash your face frequently with plain water. If you are not pregnant and have no recent plans of pregnancy you many benefit from application of retinoic acid ointments.

You would have to be patient. Let me know if I could help further.

question... now you said the cold sore is assisted with cough and cold. i did only have coughs for few days. does that mean thats a cold sore? this is the 4th day now...the red bump hasnt changed..would cold sore not blister for 4 days? it does have a bit of stabbing pain but very very mild pain only last for few second.

Brief Answer:
Should take a few days before it goes away

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I do not think that the red bump is due to a cold sore. Do not fiddle with the red bump. It will be there for a few more days and then subside gradually. The pain might increase a bit but you need not worry. I do not suppose it to blister.

Brief Answer:
Acne

Detailed Answer:
As I have already explained, I think it to be acne. There are oil secreting glands in our skin. The hormones trigger increased secretions which subsequently get infected to form acne.
