Question: Hello

I have a big cavity in my mouth, when getting infected I am taking Megamox 1 g and all goes away.
I know I should go to the dentist but I hate him!
I,m scared about bacteria mutation or worst if I get this solution all the time the infection is coming back
Is there a risk ? What kind.

Brief Answer:
Advised to see the dentist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.
Thanks for sharing your concern.

As per the history posted here,It appears that you have got chronic infection in your teeth.

Whenever you are taking antibiotics the infection reduces and re occurs again. That means complete healing is not taking place.Reason could be inadequate dosage and duration.

In my view it is very much required to visit your dentist and get a x ray done. After evaluating the x ray, treatment can be initiated.

Self treatment can lead to two following things.

1.Inappropriate course, dosage and duration of antibiotic will certainly lead to resistant strains of bacteria, which will be very difficult to treat later on.
Heavy dosages can lead to bad effects on your liver, where maximum drugs gets metabolized.

2.Chronic infections can lead to deep seated infections of jaw like Ludwig's angina or other space infections. It can also lead to osteomyelitis.(severe chronic infection).

Please remember complete treatment in dental(teeth) is done by intervention only. Therefore please stop being negative about dental treatment and go ahead meet your dentist.

Hope it helps.Let me know for further doubts.
Thanks.
Take care.
