Suggest Treatment For Chronic Rashes On Thighs

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Dec 2014
Question: After my first pregnancy I began having chronic rashes that presented around my mid section and thighs and got worse as I became stressed or scratched. Oral steroids and sunlight seem most effective at treating them when they begin. What might this be? Could Benedryl help if it is an autoimmune disorder?

Brief Answer:
Benadryl wont help if its autoimmune

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Benadryl is not indicated in treatment for auto immune disorders. It would only help, if its an allergy. Generally , immune suppressing drugs like steroids are used and are more effective in autoimmune diseases.

The rash description could be due to a number of causes like urticarial, psoriasis, contact dermatitis etc.

Please upload a good quality picture of the rash to guide you better.

wishing you best of health

thanks
