Brief Answer:
Pain Medicine

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I am sorry for the pain you have. You had not mentioned your chronic medical condition and for which you are on pain therapy. Pain medication prescriptions are under scrunity by the DEA hence doctors would not prescribe pain medicines unless there is a need to it. It would risk their practising license. So the idea is to slowly reduce the pain medicines which are strongly addictive in nature and choose alternate pain relief methods like Massage, Accupuncture/Accupressure, Biofeedback. Besides you are already on narcotics which doctors worry about addiction.

I suggest you to have this in mind while approaching a pain doctor and hint him that you are open to alternative methods of dealing with pain.

Hope I have answered your query. All the best.
