Brief Answer:
needs incision and drainage

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The definitive treatment for an abscess is surgical drainage.

This is done because antibiotics cannot adequately penetrate into purulent discharge and heal this type of infection completely.
Any abscess, at any point of the body, needs to drained.

Incision and drainage or spontaneous rupture of the abscess quickly accelerates resolution of infection.
Because the infection is in the tooth area, your dentist rather than your ENT doctor may be involved in treatment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank you doctor dr . XXXXXXX , because of this abscess , this causes this awful post nasal drainage or could it be the rentention cyst .. ??, and as far as drainage , can this be done easily at ENT or Dentist office ?? Easy procedure ???should this Augmentin be continued if it's not going to work or should I stop it and wait till it gets done ... Just hoping the nasal drip stops at least for a little bit .. Thanks so much

Brief Answer:
antibiotics should be continued

Detailed Answer:
HI

The persisting infection in the sinuses with the post nasal drip , bony changes and erosion would have contributed to this abscess.
Some retention cysts can resolve on their own, this may not need specific treatment. It occurs as a result of blockage of in a duct (passage way).

The augmentin should be continued because it would slow down any possible progression of the abscess.

The drainage should be able to be done in a dental office or ENT office though since involves mouth, the dentist would be most appropriate . Most dental offices would have the necessary facilities.

Please feel free to ask anything else
