Brief Answer:
detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

I would not suggest an over the counter antifungal treatment because if an prescription antifungal cream was not effective in treating the infection,it is less likely that it will respond to an otc cream.
Since you have completed a course of antifungal treatment for 7 days and the symptoms persist even 3 days after finishing the treatment, it indicates that the treatment failed.
This can happen for 2 reasons :
1) The fungal infection was resistant to the treatment and in this case your doctor will prescribe you another stronger antifungal cream or oral tablets to treat it.
2) The cause of your symptoms was not a fungal infection.Bacterial vaginosis can cause similar symptoms.
You need to consult your doctor again. He will do a test to confirm the diagnosis of fungal infection and prescribe you another treatment.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you need further help.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
