Suggest Treatment For Bruising On Liver As Seen In Liver Scans
Question: I have been having periodic liver scans for the last two years and the liver scan was just completed. According to the scan my liver has some bruising but is stable. I really do not know what this means I always thought that bruising required some kind of blunt force.
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
Please attach the CT report if thats possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please attach the report of CT scan? Otherwise it is very hard to give valuable answer.
I assume that there were some lumps seen in the liver CT and it was repeated after some time to see if this lumps do grow or not. If it has been done in such way, the lesions seen in the liver are benign as they do not grow.
This is the best answer I can give without the report.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I don't have the CT Scan. Previous scans indicated a small spot on the liver and periodic future scans were advised. It concerned me this time when the nurse advised that the scan showed some bruising but otherwise it was stable. I have had no blunt force to the liver. Guess I will have to try to get an appointment with my doctor and let him explain it. The nurse did not indicate any follow-up was necessary.
Brief Answer:
It seems that the findings are benign.
Detailed Answer:
I`m pretty sure that by bruising they did not mean injury caused changes. They simply can not see liver bruise, like it is on the skin. In case of an injury we describe it as a hematoma, not a bruise.
So in my opinion, they rather were talking about some benign lesion. Otherwise, biopsy would be advised. But this is only my suspicion and without the report its really hard to tell.
