Brief Answer:
Reason behind pigmentation and dent

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The hit over forehead which has left dent, must have caused significant blow to your forehead.
The reason behind dent could be

: Traumatic depression of skull bone outer plate or fracture - It can happen due to direct impact just like in your case. There is no need to worry now as 2 months have passed. If it was depressed fracture, it is in healing stage.

The reason behind purple pigmentation could be

: Collection of blood degradation (heme) products - At injury site, small blood vessels rupture and lead to collection of blood. It degrades and gives "Heme degradation products". It gives colour from red to blue to purple to brown and finally clears out.

In your case, some pigmentation is still persistent due to presence of "heme products". You should not worry, if there is no pain, swelling, raised temperature.

My advise is kindly wait and watch it if it is asymptomatic. If you feel there is pain, then consult doctor. He will examine you and might advise CT head to rule out any underlying "depressed fracture", "collected blood or hematoma".

Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
