Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis

Question: I am on a Z-pack to rule out bacterial component for bronchitis. It all started with a cold and progressively caused hacking and phlegm 3 weeks in duration. I saw the doc here a few days ago and my lungs are essentially clear and my O2 Sat 98. Yesterday was awful - so much hacking. I called and he gave me samples of Dulera- inhalers. After reading the product insert I hesitate to start taking it. Less coughing today, but the day just started. Should I start the inhaler anyway? Do I just take it PRN or twice a day for some time? I am a retired critical care RN.

Brief answer....yes you should start DULERA inhaler
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern however I would like to assure you that there is nothing to worry about DULERA.
I know you may be worrying about the steroid content of this but it is present in a very small dose and doesn't cause any problem.
You start taking DULERA and anyways you have to take it for just few days. take it twice a day for better results.
It would give good relief to your symptoms.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
best of luck
Thanks
