Suggest Treatment For Boils On The Body And Infection
Question: I had developed a boil that I self treated as an abscess with ayurvedic medications like kachnar guggul , kaishor guggul and locally applied dashang laep and baledona plaster. Its been 12 days and while in starting it was quite painful, it gradually became itchy and was a hard circular formation to touch. This hard formation was gradually decreasing in size and I thought its healing. However after I woke up a day ago( had applied dashag laep on the affected area before sleeping), the entire area where it was applied became too itchy and by the end of the day I could feel burning sensation and along with the itch. Have only applied aloe vera gel after cleaning the area with medical spirit. And the burn and itch continues as i can see many small boils in and around the entire area. Please help!!

Thanks for the reply ma'am. The boil is on the right hip and just found that the small boils are losing liquid too. Attached photos show how the boil was and ow it spread over the area.
Brief Answer:
Irritant dermatitis, take antihistaminic, antibiotic and steroid antibiotic
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs and you have developed an irritant reaction to the medicines you have used.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg twice daily along with tablet cefixime 200 mg twice daily for 7 days.
Also apply a steroid antibiotic combination cream like mometasone and fusidic acid cream twice daily on the affected areas.
For faster resolution you can take a short course of oral steroids like tablet prednisolone 20 mg once daily for 3 days.
These all are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Thankyou.
I was also worried about the boil requiring incision and drainage. I could feel the area of hardness around the boil decreasing along with the itch before this reaction occured. Should I consult a surgeon concerning the boil or gove it time to subside by its own?

Brief Answer:
You can wait for another 2-3 days for it to subside
Detailed Answer:
You can start with the medicines and continue it for 3 days.
If the boil improves no need to worry.
If it doesn't show improvement in another 2-3 days then consult a surgeon.
