Question: I think my husband has herpes

He broke out with these little rounds sores on his penis....like 2 small blisters...we've been married about 2 years, together for 4. Is it possible that he got this virus 'before' we met??? And it stayed dormant in his body?

Brief Answer:
Clinical examination required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for the query.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

Herpes usually presents with fluid filled, GROUPED vesicles which may be painful and itchy. Just 2 small blister, without any complaints goes against Herpes. But only a clinical diagnosis can confirm Herpes.
I would suggest him to get it examined by a dermatologist.
If it is in fact a case of herpes, antivirals like Acyclovir should be started.

Hope this helps

But let me ask you this.....he and I have been together for 4 years....is it possible that he or myself could have had it....before we met...and didn't know we had it....and now comes the breakout? Is that possible?

Brief Answer:
No.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome back.
I understand your confusion.

You would have noticed it the first time if you had an episode of herpes infection in the past. It is very unlikely that you would have missed it in the past.
If your husband has no such history in past, then most probably this will be his first experience ( of course, if proved to be a herpes case after clinical examination).

Hope this clarifies your doubt.

Regards.

He says that this is his first time ever seeing it or having it. We've been together 4 years, no other sexual partners, none. And I've never had it either. This is his first break out....so that's why I'm asking, could it have stayed hidden in his body....now showing up years later?

Brief Answer:
Less likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Before jumping into any conclusion kindly get it confirmed by your dermatologist.
As I have mentioned earlier, it is very unlikely to have missed in in past. If he had it in past then he would have noticed it.

You can post the photos of lesions here. It becomes for me to make further comments. Its better if you get it confirmed by direct clinical examination by dermatologists.

Can you all prescribe medications here through this website?

Brief Answer:
Tab Acyclovir

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
sorry for the late response.

I will again insist a clinical cinfirmation of lesions. It could also be someother bacterial infection. Antivirals wont be useful in such cases.
But if it is a case of herpes, then I would suggest Tab Acyclkvir 800mg þtimes a day for 7days. You will need to see a doctor to get a script.

Hope this helps.
