Question: Hello. I have dilated left ureter to level of bladder,UVJ narrowing. I also have trouble with a bladder i had repeated UTI and now i don't have Uti i have very irritable bladder.Doctor treated me 6 month with intervals with low dose antibiotics, nothing helped. Now i had procedure for placing ureter stent. I have terrible bladder inflammation now, take antibiotics ,but still very irritable bladder.Doctor said that this is because of stent. And this is already second antibiotics after procedure. My question is - is stent should be placed on inflaimed bladder.I think it was needed first treat very well bladder and then put stent. What do you think? Thank you for the answer.

I'am sorry, this problem with bladder i have from January. And doctor always gave me low dose of antibiotics, it was helped but in a few weeks started again very discomfort in bladder. My urine test not bad.I don't have malignancy too but doctor can't treat my problem with bladder. What i have to do? Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

i read your question and i understand your concern. Dilated left ureter is is due to vesico ureteral junctional narrowing and your doctor followed protocols of first trying antibiotics and supportive remedies and once failed went for stenting. Now with stent, more than normal reflux occurs and that is causing recurrent UTIs. The answer to your question whether stent should be placed in an inflamed bladder, is yes . It can be and it should be placed in cases like yours. There is no doubt VUJ stents lead to such morbidities like yours disability and i am sorry for your trouble but supportive remedies , antibiotics coverage and pain relief is all doctors can offer for now.

Stay in touch with your urologist and let them decide what is best for you. I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
