What about shock therapy?? Is it still used for depression treatment. I am worried that he will not recover and if shock therapy would help then why would it not be offered ??

Brief Answer:
Shock therapy is very useful

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow-up.
Yes shock therapy is a very useful and safe therapy. It is used in resistant cases and gives good response. Especially the recently used modified electro convulsive therapy where in shock are applied with patient under anesthesia is a very safe procedure.
You may try with medicines first but if the response is not adequate then it would be wise to consider shock therapy.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards
