Suggest Treatment For Bed Wetting And Brittle Hair In Child

Question: My 8 year old daughter has thinning brittle hair that seems to break off constantly but she has no bald patches from her scalp. She also is still bed wetting and constantly withdrawn. I have taken her to to see our gp who says bed wetting is normal to continue till he is teenaged and he can't see any evidence of her hair thinning and breaking and to stop using hair products like hair sprays and straighteners etc. since she is only 8, the only products she uses are shampoo and conditioner. She hides the hair under her pillow and even tries to hide that she has wet the bed. She is really emotional and worrisome of everything. I don't think it's anything medical as she isn't ill or anything, but maybe stress related? My gp is having none of it as little girls don't suffer with stress apparently. Could it be something different ?

Brief Answer:
Hair

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
Thinning, brittle hair can sometimes be due to a vitamin deficiency. Sometimes Biotin or zinc deficiencies can cause this.
As far as the bedwwtting, I wthink its worth at least some medical investigation.
I'm not exactly certain of any connection between brittle hair and bedwetting. But I would consider a visit to a pediatric urologist. They will usually do an ultrasound yo determine if all of the anatomy is ok. That would be good to know.
As far as the hair, the first place I would start is with a pediatric dermatologist. The experiences have seen this before and almost always know what to do.
Stress related? Its possible. But all medical causes should be ruled out first.
