Question: I have stinging , burning back pain on the left side of my spine. It comes within seconds and then goes . If I do not move, I have no trouble, but movement seems to exacerbate it.

You could be suffering from spondylosis. In such a case, due to age related degenerative changes, the openings through which the spinal nerves exit from the vertebral canal, get narrowed down. This could create pressure on certain nerves leading to the stinging and burning sensation. In such a case, proper exercise, as guided by a physical therapist, should be able to provide relief, while improper movement would exaggerate it. Spinal traction is required only in severe cases.
