Suggest Treatment For Anorexia
Question: My daughter was diagnosed with anorexia five years ago. She came out of it but has always been cautious about her weight. She is now 19 at college and skinny but overall healthy. A family doctor prescribed her adderral after running written test on her and diagnosing her with HDAD (10mg). I am very concerned that this medication is causing her to lose weight. Can you help me please? A mom in distress...
Brief Answer:
Yes, it causes increased activity and weightless!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Weight loss is certainly a possible side effect of this drug as a result of hyperactivity that can lead to weight loss. However, the benefits must be more important than to possible harm. To make sure her weight is okay, kindly provide her height and weight as weight is best appreciated in relation to the height of the individual.
I hope to get these details from you to:
1. Evaluate her weight and determine whether she requires increased calories or not.
I hope to hear back from you at your earliest convenience.
