Antibiotics (most of them) give diarrhea only in case of specific environment in the intestines. Please note that the intestines are all covered with good bacteria. The presence of this bacteria in sufficient amount prevents bad bacteria from growing (is like with free seats in a bus - if you leave few free seats, bad bacteria will sit there, if all seats will be taken by a good bacteria, no bad bacteria will seat). Now antibiotic kills many good bacteria. That is why when taking antibiotic, probiotic should be given as well. This in most cases gives additional bacteria for good protection. And lack of bad bacteria will give no diarrhea.
So please start probiotic intake and diarrhea should not appear.
The other thing is if you really need the antibiotic. If the abscess has been incised and well drained, antibiotic is not necessary.
If the abscess has not been drained, and antibiotic was given, its a serious mistake. Antibiotics do not penetrate to the pus (it contains no blood vessels inside and blood vessel supplies antibiotics).

hi many thanks for your reply. the doctor id not drain the abcess at all but I have noticed that last night a red pimple had occurred and that it looked like it was coming to a head. this morning the head has gone and the pain has decreased by 99% there is still a small lump. I am thinking of holding of the antibiotics for a day and see if it goes on its own. I have attached a photo.

thanks for the reply my only concern is that i have read I could get septicemia and die if it does not clear out! is this true?

In healthy person, sepsis is usually very rare condition. However such possibility makes the need to incise and drain every abscess.
So answering your question, its not true, you can not get sepsis from anal abscess. As you can see, it gets drained by itself rather than cause any complication.
