Hello,

if all you have is a rash, which means no shortness of breath, no hypotension etc then an antihistamine drug would be appropriate and - usually - effective. The substance that caused the allergic reaction, should be avoided in the future.
If you start having more serious symptoms like wheezes, shortness of breath etc then immediate medical help would be needed.

Kind Regards!

What is a antihistamine drug, is that something I can get over-the-counter?

Brief Answer:
Yes!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The answer is yes. Drugs like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine) are antihistamine drugs. They can be used for allergic reactions. Alcohol consumption or concomitant use of central nervous system drugs is not advised when using antihistamines.

If you'd like further details, please let me know.
I'll be glad to answer.

Kind Regards!
