Suggest Treatment For Acne Scars And Whiteheads

Question: Hello Doctor,

I am 28 married women. I have problem of acne and whiteheads since 17.
I am using ACNESOL 1% Clindamycin Phosphate topical Solution but using this my acne problem is not fixed permanently and not even fully. I keep getting whiteheads and acne's.

What is other solution/gel which can give good result is clearing it off? Can Duac or Benzac-AC gel.

Also, it has caused breakouts and scars also black spots.

Please refer some good solution which can help me to get clearer skin.

Management of acne

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed all the attached photographs and can appreciate white heads, red papules, scars as well as marks.
In such cases I recommend my patients to use cetaphil cleansing lotion for sensitive or oily skin depending on the patient's skin type along with application of benzoyl peroxide 2.5 percent gel on the whiteheads as well as red papules twice daily.
Along with this I recommend them to take tablet azithromycin 500 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days in a week for atleast 3-4 months.
On the marks I advice them to apply a cream containing kojic acid twice daily.
If the pimples are associated with dandruff I recommend them to take an anti dandruff shampoo twice weekly.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
As far as scars are concerned you need to go for ablative laser treatment or Microneedling sessions.
Besides this keep your face dry, avoid oiling of scalp, use cosmetics labelled as noncomedogenic and reduce the intake of sugary foods.
