Suggest Treatment For Accidental Consumption Of Plastic
Question: Hi Doctor,
Some days back, a week back after eating an ice cream i noticed a small portion(around 6mm/4mm dimension) of the pink plastic ice cream spoon was missing and very worried if it has gone inside my stomach or not. Iam still worried if the bit of that plastic spoon may/will cause any damage for the organs in future? Do you see the need for any test? if yes, which test?

After going through the history - there is nothing much to worry about.
Even though 5mm plastic went - it would have passed through the back passage - There where number of incidents where kids swallow coins - they do pass through back passage.
Since its not a metal , no sharp endings it could easily pass through in your case.
More over you don't have any symptoms related to the incident.
As a remedy take good fiber diet, and fruits like apple, this will help in easy passage - but its already some days back - you might have already passed of, But still try.
But if you have any symptoms related to it - you may need to see your GP for immediate action.

It is crescent shape and some sharp edges at both corners (not as sharp as metals), iam getthing thoughts if get it stuck somewhere... Can this be checked by ultra sound or any other test for my satisfaction?
