Suggest Treatment For A Small Bump On The Head Of Penis

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Jun 2016
Question: Hi,

I have recently noticed a small bump on the side of the head of my penis. After closer inspection I have noticed more bumps and raised lines on the inside of my foreskin.

I looked online and found some home remedies and tried them for a week before seeking assistance from my doctor. I tried an antifungal cream for a few days with no change, then I tried Apple cider vinegar followed by antifungal cream - it made it itch like crazy!

My doctor prescribed hydrocortisone acetate he believed (upon inspection) it wasn't really anything to worry about. I have been using just the cream for a week now and have seen no change, I have also changed to soap free cleaning products and have been keeping the area as dry as possible. I actually think it might be getting worse. Iam starting to notice more tingles "possibly itch" and I appear to have more bumps forming in the area.

I have experienced no discharge, the bumps & lines of raised skin are smooth and not cracked, there is almost no discolouration many of them are hard to see. When applying vinigar the bumps on forskin whent white after some time and skin became fragile, the one the head remained unchanged.

I would be very interested to hear you thoughts - thanks in advance!

Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
It is not possible to comment on it without examination, so I would request you to upload the pictures of it, that will give me general idea what it might be and I'll be better position to assist you with.

Kindly provide few additional information--
1. Since how long you have been having this problem?
2. Did you recently suffered from UTI, or presently do you have symptom of burning micturation?
3. Are you sexualy active? If so have you recently changed the brand of condoms?

Kindly get back to me with this information and with the pictures, I'll be glad to help you out.
Take care

Hi thanks again for looking at this for me.

I first noticed it due to the lumps "now looks like two" on the head of my penis. it was 3 weeks ago but I may have had it for longer.

I have not had a uti and have recently been tested for syphilis; hep b/c; HIV; urine Chlamydia/Gonorrhoea PCR; HSV 1/2 - is what the slip said. all came back clear. I am not sexually active and have not been for 12 months - I fear I may not be again if I can't find a solution or treatment for this.

The image: you will see the two small bumps on the head one near the rim and another under the head on the crease line "by far the worst" and more further back along the underside of the forskin. the photo makes it look a lot more red than in person. I hope you can see what I'm talking about & that this helps. there are a coupe of bumps on the other side but they are nothing in comparison.

Brief Answer:
upload the picture with encircled lesion

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through the pictures.
Sorry, but I am not able to appreciate the bumps, if possible kindly encircle the lesion and upload the picture.
Based on the picture, I don't think you have anything to worry. But still upload the pictures with encircled lesion.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

sure please see the attached image - do you have any idea as to what this is? it does not look good at all and iam a bit worried, my doctor has told me that I shouldn't be worried when he prescribed the cream and that it was probably a form of dermititis but the cream isn't doing anything. it appears to be getting worse so I'm thinking there is something to worry about. it's not normal for me, Iam just trying as many avenues as possible for greater insight and hopefully a resolution. if you are unable to tell what it is can you please give me some information on conditions that present like this and their treatment? possibly a place to start? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
might be contact dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for providing the pictures, and I have gone through them.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination. Since the rash is non itchy, not painful, it can be due to dermatitis skin or due to friction rub of the penis with the undergarments. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. And continue the treatment suggested by your doctor, it should be helpful.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.
