Suggest Treatment For A Bartholin's Cyst In The Vagina

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Jul 2017
Question: Hi, i recently (5 weeks ago) had a marsupilisation of a bartholin cyst.. My doctor told me the stitch would come out within 2-3 weeks post op, but it is still there.. Is this normal? How long should it take until it comes out?

Also, just wondering what causes the bartholin cyst?
I had one on the right side which became extremely large and then burst on its own, and then almost immediately after one appeared on the left which was then marsupilised.. Is this just a coincidence or is there an underlyong cause?

Brief Answer:
Bartholin cyst usually occurs on both side

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Stitches usually get resorbed totally in 4-6 weeks.
Bartholin cyst is common to recur.
Once it occurs on one side, it is prone to recur on the other.
Underlying causes like vaginal infection and diabetes should be ruled out.
I will suggest you to get your blood sugar levels done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
