Brief Answer:
Agent Orange has nothing to do with your daughters

Detailed Answer:
Good evening sir. My name is Dr. Saghafi and I am a neurologist who spends quite a bit of time treating vets and running the headache clinic at the XXXXXXX VA Medical Center in OHIO. I am a Comp and Pen specialist for the neurology dept. and deal with vets and questions having to do with neurological diseases all the time that are believed to be Agent Orange related.

Here's the bottom line with respect to your specific question.

Any exposure you had to Agent Orange while overseas is not going to show up in your progeny in the form of MS. Although there are forms and cases of MS which are clearly passed on through genetics there is no such thing as a case of MS which has ever been reported or studied to have come about as the result of any sort of toxic exposure to chemicals, infections, or otherwise.

You are no way shape or form responsible for having passed on M.S. to your children as a result of A.O. exposure. Whether or not they possess any form of a genetically transmitted type of M.S. would remain for a geneticist to decide but if so, that's rare.

By the way, you say you suffer from PTSD....do you suffer with nightmares or severe headaches? If so, are you aware of the specific treatment available for nightmares as they relate to PTSD events?

You can always write specific questions to me by landing on my page:

and then, choosing to direct your questions to me.

All the best to you soldier....hope they're looking into that PTSD for you....let me know the answers to the questions and I'll pass on more information to you if you need it.

BTW, what I'd appreciate is if you could rate this answer with STARS and some commentary if you feel I've helped you with useful information. Also, if you have no further questions to ask or comments to make...that's cool....just close down the consult on your end so the computer can process it and store it for future use as well as close the query down so the network can see that I took care of your case appropriately.

Brief Answer:
Many Thanks for Your Service

Detailed Answer:
Many thanks to you for YOUR service Sir and rest assured that Agent Exposure that you suffered in Nam had nothing to do with your children's development of MS. While it is possible that both of your daughters are being followed by neurologists for their conditions please feel free to let them know that they are welcome to connect with me if they have any questions or concerns as to what is going on in their lives.

I also once again extend an invitation to you if you suffer from vivid dreams or nightmares and would like to know more about a very specific treatment available for this part of your PTSD. The VA distributes this particular medication although not all providers have come to be aware of its potential curative properties and consequently never recommend it to patients who may benefit.

Both you and your daughters can write back to me directly by landing on:

Finally, I'd be most appreciative if you could rate this conversation with STARS and some commentary if you feel I've helped you with useful information. If you have no further questions to ask or comments to make please close the query on your end so the computer can process and store it for future use so the network can see that the case has been appropriately addressed.

Regards to you and your family for a wonderful balance to the Holiday Season!
