Question: Hi
my periods date are as below - XXXXXXX - 15th - 18th
July 6th - i took an i pill
Bleeding after 5 days and then it stopped
July 13th - 16th - periods
August 14th - 18th periods
i had sex on 1st of september ... though it was unprotected my partner and i are equally sure that nothing went inside.
Today standing on 28th Sep , i still have not had my periods .
Could the i pill have delayed the periods , as it is supposed to come normally now ?
After taking pregnancy test , what is false positive .
i have done two pregnancy test at home and the worry factor is there is a thin line on the T side as well , which indicates positive .. could there be a false positive ? and with the ovulation date as 1st week of september , is it too soon to take a pregnancy test ?

I am very very confused, please help !

Brief Answer:
Blood test or ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The effect of the i pill can last for one or two months.
But as you got regular periods in August after taking I pill, this delay may not be due to the pill.
As both urine pregnancy test kits gave thin lines, there is some possibility for pregnancy.
Though there is no ejaculation, sometimes preejaculate fluid can contain few spermatozoa.
After one week of missed period, urine pregnancy test kit usually gives accurate result.
So, the options for you are:
-You can go for blood test for pregnancy, which can give more accurate result compared with urine test.
-Wait for 3 to 4 days and repeat urine pregnancy test. If it shows thick line, pregnancy is almost confirmed.
-Ultrasound can detect gestational sac by 6 weeks of pregnancy or in case of absence of pregnancy, the cause of delay in periods can be identified.

Hi Doctor.

Thanks for your time.

1 last question , i got over with my periods on 18th August. and referring to the ovulation date from 1st - 4th sep... i only had sex on 1st , with no sperms being removed inside. '
is it possible that the pregnancy test could show positive results so early , since i took the pregnancy test on 24th sep ( wed ) and then again on 25th sept morning ( 1st urine.
is it too early , or is a false positive .
Also with starting of the 5th week , is it advisable to go for a blood test , or is it too early?
After ovulation days, approximately how much time it takes for the pregnancy to show properly ?
