Suggest Remedy For Tingling Hands And Lower Back Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Jul 2015
Question: Hi I am a thirty four year female. I recently started experiencing lower extremity tingling that eventually went away. Now I have a productive cough, no fever, no runny nose and I have coughing fits at night while laying down. Now I'm having mid to lower back pain. No swollen lymph nodes. I'm not a smoker. When I Google these symptoms lung cancer comes up. Now I'm scared and freaking out. I went to the doctor and she said my lungs sound good. No shortness or breath. She thinks it's a respiratory infection. What bothers me is I don't feel sick..it started out with me hearing the phelgm when I exhale really hard..at first my cough wasn't productive now it is.

Brief Answer:
Yes,it is due to upper respiratory infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read the query and understand the concerns.

The symptoms of productive cough without fever, runny nose or shortness of breath could be due to mild upper respiratory tract infection which could be allergic but not infective.

As you have been consulted some local doctor and your lungs are clear then you need not to bother about lung cancer which is not the possibility here.
So be rested.

However, you can try below measures with some medications to alleviate the symptoms.

Your local doctor will know about the drugs and can prescribe if it is not available over the counter.

Your symptoms of sputum or phlegm will start decreasing within 3 to 5 days and you may feel better within one week.

1) Take expectorants like cheratussin AC syrup 2 TSF twice daily.
2) Nebulization with saline or bronchodilators (asthalin) respules three times a day.
3) steam inhalation 3 to 4 times a day.
4) warm salt water gargles
5) avoid cold water and drinks.

Hope this information will help you and if any query then you can ask me.
