Suggest Remedy For Small Stomach Ulcer Along With Feeling Of Something Stuck In Upper Chest Area

Question: I have been diagnosed previously with a small ulcer caused , I am told , by aspirin. It appears to have come back as I am feeling the same discomfort ( feeling of something stuck in the upper part of my chest). The previous diagnosis was as a result of an endescopy. I am on medication for blood pressure, cholesterol etc as I had a minor heart attack 5 yrs ago. Been well since, blood pressure under control! Is there anything I can do to help heal this myself? Anything I can take/eat/not eat? I take 40mg of Nepramel every day.

Brief Answer:
Avoid spicy food, nicotine, alcohol, keep taking nepramel

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

you should avoid above mentioned foods plus higher amounts of caffeine (1-2 coffee per day are mostly fine) and keep taking the nepramel. With that most acid problems will get better.

If symptoms persist after 2 weeks, please get back as you may have to be investigated further.
Best regards

I don't feel its an acid problem…is it possible to have an ulcer in the oesophagus ?I have been taking Nepramel all along but this "stuck" feeling has only reappeared in the last few days.Would discontinuing aspirin for a few weeks help?

Brief Answer:
Acid may flow back from stomach in esophagus

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

due to lax muscles acid can flow bck from the stomach in the esophagus, and yes stopping aspirin may help, but needs to be evaluated by your local gp because of your heart attack history. If the problem persists an endoskopy can find the cause.

best regards
