Suggest Remedy For Redness And Pain In Throat Along With Blocked Nose And Headaches

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Aug 2015
Question: My head started hurting a couple days ago, then my nose was clogged, throat and left ear sore. My throat is red and I have one white spot way in the back, the back of my tongue has some bumps on it... Skin coloured to my eyes. This morning and yesterday I spat out a very chunky glob of down with some blood. Is this a sinus infection or should I be more concerned ?

Brief Answer:
Most probably sinus infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back. Yes there is a possibility that these symptoms are due to sinus infection. I would suggest you to perform following measures:

- Cetirizine one at night for 3 days
- acetaminophen thrice a day for 2 days
- Xylometazoline HCl nasal spray. One puff in each nostril thrice a day for 2 days
- Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.
- Take boiling water in a pot, put your head over the steam and cover whole with a sheet. Take deep breaths in it.(Avoid getting closer else it might cause burn). Do this twice a day.

AVOID:
> Chilled water
> Drinks
> Spicy food

Hopefully you will see improvement in 2-3 days BUT if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital & get an appointment for a "Consultant ENT Specialist" for examination and start of antibiotic therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
