Suggest Remedy For Pain After Colon And Hernia Surgery

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Oct 2014
Question: So much neglect in four years and one area I haven't covered. After the infection where colon was removed, I had hernia repair with an epidural used going to site of surgery; I was writhing in the same pain ,in area of colon placed in side of rectum with strips of mesh, and broke the epidural connection. The amount of moving in order to get some relief, could I have compromised the mesh? My stomach rests on the "fat" covering the mesh so I cannot consume food in anything but small amounts and I have pain under mesh where colon was removed.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to have compromised mesh.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.

Good to hear from you.

It is unlikely that you would have compromised mesh placement due to movement. If it was compromised placement then you would have recurrence of prolapse or recurrence of the abdominal hernia. If both things have not happened then it is unlikely for that to happen. For the stomach problem you will have to change lifestyle to multiple small meals as that is what your stomach is accomodating presently. However can you send me the operation or discharge notes so I can get a better idea of what has exactly happened. That would be helpful.

Take care and look forward to hearing from you.

Four years of neglect and I'm spent. Out of trying to move on, I tossed every report out. I do have access to them, but I don't have them presently.
You reassured me, however.
It's been four years of being lost in the cracks and doctors just tossing drugs. Finally, I was demanding and said to get me off meds. The next step, I don't know, but, I'm tired of getting up hopes and a doctor not taking time to be thorough. However, you reassured me and what is it about you and others on your site that make you dig deep? You are amazing. Thank you
