Posted on Mon, 22 Sep 2014
Question: Hi. I'm 31 yrs old and had my tubes tied 3 yrs ago. I had my period two weeks ago and for the last two days I've noticed some pink spotting. After intercourse with my partner it got a little heavier and red and went right back to pink spotting. I've been a little more fatigued and have had some nausea. What could be causing this?

Brief Answer:
It can be implantation bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
I know the chances of pregnancy are very less after tubectomy but sometimes it may happen due to recanalization of tubes.
Three possibilities in your case-
1) Due to hormonal imbalance
2) Implantation bleeding
3) Pelvic infection
You should consult a gynaecologist and get your examination done to rule out the cause of spotting.
Hope I have answered your query if you have further questions I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
