Brief Answer:
Gynecologist consult is a good choice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Your symptoms can be caused by urinary tract infection, uterine and/or ovaries inflammation, endometriosis or spine disc problem.
As the rectum is close to the uterine, any inflammation of this area can cause kind of rectal pain. You may have also some bleeding with this issue.
Urinary tract can act in such way. However it gives frequent urinating, burning while urinating.
Endometriosis is possible if you have had c-section.

Spine disc herniation is possible if the pain starts or worsens after physical activity.

Gynecologist consult is a good idea. Transvaginal ultrasound should be done. You should also have blood work and urine analysis done. Abdominal ultrasound should be performed as well.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

thank you for your answer. 4 weeks ago I ended up in hospital because of uti and after a course of antibiotics it did clear, but the problem I wrote to you about is still occurring from time to time, last year I had problems with my periods being irregular and I had a ultra sound which showed a small ovarian cyst and also I had blood works for ovarian cancer which were fine and also my cervical smear which also came back normal. but as the gp explained the other day she has referred me back to put my mind at ease as my mum has secondart breast cancer and she feels I am worried about more sinister things.

Brief Answer:
Gynecologist should be visited for sure.

Detailed Answer:
Ovarian cyst history is just the another reason to consult gynecologist. Not just to ease your mind but to find out the reason of your pain.
And uti should be ruled out as well.
Please follow as instructed above.
