Brief Answer:
hypersensitivity or caries

Detailed Answer:
Hello

pain in the last tooth of lower jaw can be due to either impacted or improperly erupted molar teeth.
As you are having sensitivity on drinking water there is a possibility of caries or hypersensitivity of dentin.

is there a pain while eating also?
Was there any swelling related to that tooth?
Pain increases on cold food or cold and hot food both?

If you can upload the xray of that tooth it would be very helpful in exact diagnosis.

Waiting for your response.

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for the swift reply.

The Dentist kept the x-ray with her only and didn't gave me.

Molar teeth in the sense I guess birth tooth. She got that doubt and in the x-ray it was found that one birth tooth is there on the upper jaw in the left side only.

But I am feeling pain in the left lower jaw. I don't feel pain while eating, but I get it while drinking water and will be more if the water is cold or hot.

Thanks & Regards,

Brief Answer:
hypersensitivity or pulpitis

Detailed Answer:
Sensitivity on hot and cold stuff can be due to hypersensitivity of dentin or pulpitis.

if I go according to your report then it more likely to be a case of dentinal hypersensitivity.
It can occur due to wear off the outer tooth structure(ENAMEL) exposing the underlying dentin.in that case you have two option
1.Go for the cap(crown) over that tooth
2. Use anti hypersensitivity toothpastes

But if the pain is due to decay (caries) then you should get it filled.that I can only say through seeing an xray.

meanwhile you can take ofloxacin plus ornidazole for five days and if pain is more you can take a painkiller.
Syart using anti hypersensitivity toothpate like Hydent k or RR sensoform.

if the problem persist then I would advice you visit a dentist.
Hope this answer helps.

Dr. Shesh
