Suggest Remedy For Hips Pain During Period

Question: Why do my hips hurt so bad during my period? My gynecologist did an ultrasound and said he found no evidence of endrometrotis I'm 41 years old and the hip pain started about 2 years ago during my periods and is getting worse .

I am so sorry to hear about this hip pain that you have reported. With testing showing no discernible abnormality that may explain this pain, this is probably primary dysmenorhea.

Primary dysmenorrhea refers to pains and disturbing symptoms during menstruation that is probably linked to hormonal changes with no identifiable cause on thorough investigation.

I will recommend that you try pain medications a day or two before menses start and continue during menses to control this pain. A trial of Tylenol or Ibuprofen would make a good start at doses recommended by your pharmacist. With this, we would be able to review further down and see whether it works or further plans need to be considered.
