Suggest Remedy For Eye Pain And Irritation In Eyelid After An Injury

Question: Two days ago I injured the inner corner of my right eye when falling over, my right index finger pulled down on just above the carnuncle (I think) area on a ridge, during the scramble and made a clicking sound (no visible wound/cut). Afterwards I experienced I eye pain when blinking and moving my eye excessively. Whilst the pain has lessened I'm still experiencing pain in the corner of my eye and irritation at the top of the eyelid, furthermore the area recieved a blunt blow (unlike the sharp fingernail) today after one of my friends ran into me. I was wondering if there is any serious eye problem behind the pain, or if it is wise to wait a few days to monitor my injury.

The symptoms you describe could be serious and could impair vision in the years to come. You could have something like a corneal abrasion causing the pain. You need to be seen and evaluated immediately by an ophthalmologist or an emergency room physician. Please do not delay. It may be a minor issue but you do not want to risk your vision by waiting a few days to get it examined.
