Brief Answer:
Warm water or tea sipped in small amounts.

Detailed Answer:
First I want to say that if are having drooling, difficulty breathing, or inability to swallow anything at all, then go to the ER promptly.

Otherwise there are some things you can try at home.

The first thing to try is drinking plenty of liquids such as warm water or tea. Sip this in small amounts at a time. The warm liquid acts as a lubricant and will help the cherry pit to pass down.

Avoid acidy drinks such as juice right now.

If that doesn't work, you can also try to initiate the gag reflex. The gag reflex may help by reversing the normal direction the esophagus moves food, and may cause you to regurgitate the pit back up towards the mouth. To do this, tickle the very back of your mouth where the soft palate ends with your finger.

If these things fail, or if pain persists or worsens, then go to the hospital and they will most likely give you medicine that relaxes the esophagus and allows the pit to pass down. If that doesn't work, then they will recommend an upper endoscopy which involves (after sedation) a narrow tube with a camera that will allow the doctor to remove the pit.

Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification. I hope you are feeling better shortly!
