Brief Answer:
It is due to withdrawal syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Duzela is a medicine which need gradual withdrawal from body. If it is stopped suddenly it causes withdrawal symptoms like difficulty in sleep, restlessness, bad dreams, tremor, anxiety, lightheadedness and abnormal sensations.

I mean to say that current symptoms are indication of withdrawal syndrome due to sudden stoppage of medication.

I also like to inform you that for first episode depression the duration of treatment is at least six to nine months. If stopped prematurely there is possibility of recurrence of depression.

Considering this I feel you must continue your medication for next three months and than only decide for slow discontinuation.

I hope this helps you.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.

Brief Answer:
Discontinuation should take at least 6-8 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Discontinuation should be gradual as stated above. It can be done with 15-20% reduction every 10-14 days.

You need the same medicine but of different strength to cut down the dose.

In case of duzela we need at least 6-8 weeks depending from person to person.

I hope this clarifies further.
Thanks again

Hi Sir,

Once again thanks for your reply.

I don't want to take such medicines, will it be normal without taking medicines, if it is how long it will take to recover and be normal.?
Is there any other medicines that can be useful for being normal apart from psycatritic drugs.?
Can meditation and yoga, exercise is useful.
Please help.

Thanks once again.

Brief Answer:
It is your decision but never advisable

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I understand your concern but as stated above every condition requires treatment duration that should be completed for effective treatment.

I know there are many myths about psychiatric medicines but most of them are groundless and out of context.

As you might be knowing that if you have infection you need antibiotics. Similarly if you have psychiatric illness you need treatment with psychiatric medicines.
The other option is psychotherapy. For example in your case CBT can do well provided expert psychologist is available and offers treatment for you.

The use of yoga, meditation and exercise definitely helps in depression but not to the extent of medications. If you practice them there is less chance to develop depression in compare to a person who is not practicing them.

I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards
