Brief Answer:
Sleep Study, FNPL Scopy/ DISE/ Dynamic MRI. BMI / Weight Reduction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. He should be examined by an ENT Specialist who can evaluate the snoring.

2. A sleep study will determine if he has only snoring or Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). OSA is defined as more than 30 episodes of stoppage in breathing for more than 30 seconds over 8 hours of sleep. He can also be given a trial with a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine the next night.

3. Once confirmed and differentiated from central apnea, peripheral apnea is evaluated for the obstructive levels (nose, palate, tongue, throat). This includes Flexible NasoPharyngoLaryngo (FNPL) Scopy, DISE (Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy) and Dynamic MRI (cine MRI).

4. Various procedures are available. However depending upon his BMI, weight reduction is the simplest of approaches. Upload these results for discussing treatment options.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
