Brief Answer:
Use Azole pessary once daily for 14 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.

Since you have confirmed recurrent candidiasis, there is no need to use Metronidazole. It does not help.

Use Azole pessary once daily for 14 days. This dosage suits your work schedule also. The dosage is once daily. Taking it for longer period would inhibit fungal growth.

If this treatment is also not effective, consult doctor and take Fluconazole therapeutic course followed by six months suppressive dose course.

Do you have diabetes? if so it is extremely important that it is well controlled.

I hope this is helpful.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama

Hi Dr Wani, thank you Dr i dont think i have diabetes, though my mother has it and she had passed away.
Due to the situation of recurrent cheese discharge, i have inserted the pessaries before messaging you
(1) I have started the 500mg metronidazole combi with 100mg miconazole nitrate. Do i finish up the 7 days ? or 14days.?
Or (2) stop this therapy because this combination doesnt help me and is causing resistance?
And (3) Dr there is no Azole pessaries (what is the retail name) available here in my country are there any alternative?
i understand that you mentioned Fluconazole course and 6 months course..will the gastric flora be destroyed?
Many Thanks for your reply.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

It is good to get checked to find out if you have diabetes.
Since you have already started it complete the course for 14 days.

Miconazole, Fluconazole ,clotrimazole etc are azole group of drugs.

Using fluconazole for long period does not destroy gastric flora. It is a antifungal agent.
Use loose cotton undergarments.
I hope this is helpful.
If you have further queries, do write to me.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
