Suggest Remedies For Inflammation On Left Side Of Nose Post Two Sinus Surgeries

default
Posted on Fri, 20 May 2016
Question: i have had two sinus surgeries, an i still suffer from inflammation on the left side. There is a little bit of nasal drip but hardly any mucus ever. Just pain. Does this just mean it gets swollen inside my sinus due to whatever I am eating ? Does wheat cause infammation? I always have to take tylenol 3 or naproxen .
Th pain is debilitating. However I have come to believe that nothing can be done and I have to see what my triggers are. i think if my surgeon sees me again he would see clear sinuses.

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern and am sorry to hear about your distress related to the less than optimum outcome of the surgeries.

I can give you some additional options.

You can try a different combination of pain meds. Gabapentin or pregabalin are options that you can discuss with your doctor especially if the pain is neuropathic in nature.

Mucolytics like carbocystein or n acetylcysteine can also be used as many a times the mucus gets hardened and isn't let out very well.

A short course of corticosteroids will also help any acute inflammation.

Wheat doesn't cause or predispose to inflammation.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
