Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/55 - Known diverticulitis - took 2 rounds of Cipro and Flagyl for controlling the infection and 5 rounds as precaution since December - were severely constipated and impacted making infection to flare up and again on Cipro and Flagyl - wants to know what can be done to minimize damage and replenish gut bacteria quickly ...

Following measures can be done to replenish gut bacteria:
Pre and probiotics, available in Pharmacy nearby
Curds and Yogurt.
These help to restore the bacterial flora quickly.

Measured to minimize damage:
Make a list of the foods and the beverages that instigate or enhance your problems and stop them altogether, your past experiences decide this.
Plenty of water and fluids orally.
Avoid constipation and dehydration.
Follow the instruction given by your Doctor and Nurse/Dietitian strictly.
Avoid stress and/or anxiety as it is known to enhance the problems.

I hope this answers your query.
