Suggest Medication To Regulate Menstrual Cycle

Question: Hi, I am having regular menstrual cycle. But I am having very less bleeding during periods. Recently found that there is complex right ovarian cyst and also i am having thyroid 25mcg tablet for hypothyroidism. doctor suggested me to take regestrone 5mg tablet for 10 days to cure cyst.
My question is if i have this tablet, will it make my cycle irregular?

Regesterone is progesterone and usually given to regulate menstrual cycle.
When you take it for 10 days, you will get withdrawal bleeding within one week after stopping the drug.

already i have regular cycles...this tablet has any side effect to irregular cycles after 2-3 months?

Sorry for the long delay in my response.
As it contains progesterone in it, can cause nausea, vomiting, swelling, weight gain, fluid retention, stomach upset,headache etc.
Some patients suffer from its side and some are free.
