Suggest Medication To Reduce Testosterone Production

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Aug 2015
Question: Is there any drug that stops the pituary gland to send signals to the testis for testerone production? I heard Depo Provera does that but I am unable to get the prescription for that.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
LEUPROLIDE

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
I guess you are searching for a medicine which can reduce production of testosterone by reducing pituitary signaling to testes. Yes, gnRH analogues are available ( LEUPROLIDE depot) . Once a month and once in 3 month preparations are available.

Brief Answer:
Need assessment from a psychiatrist and psychologist

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
I must say that testosterone deprivation therapy is an extreme step which we use in prostrate cancer and in young boys with premature puberty.
Testosterone deprivation therapy has lots of side effects especially at your age.
So I would say, you need to treat the root cause of the problem. Please get help from a psychiatrist. After his assessment if they think it is necessary, you may seek a recommendation letter supporting testosterone deprivation therapy.. With that, you may approach an endocrinologist or Urologist.

I am sorry to say that, we can not dispatch a prescription like that online. It is illegal and not ethical.
Please accept my sincere apologies.

OCD

Detailed Answer:
OCD need long term treatment. Please be under the care of a psychiatrist. Many a times, patients get frustrated when they don't see an immediate effect. Most of these drugs to treat OCD may take time to kick start the effect. Please be patient.

Testosterone deprivation may further affect your mood adversely. Discuss with your psychiatrist.
