Question: My daughter is 3.5 years old and has been complaining of stomach ache at random times. She all of a sudden comes up saying that stomach is hurting. Her stomach seems to be soft and is passing motions normally.
Eating is also kind of normal and so are her activities. Unable to understand whats the cause. Can you please recommend some OTC medicine for help?
I tried giving her rantac syrup once a day but that didn't help. Not sure whats causing the stomach ache.

Brief Answer:
Giving Drotaverine syrup would help

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern.
I wont get worried if the pain is not severe enough to cause sleep disturbance, not associated with stool or urine abnormality, abdominal distension, vomiting or poor appetite and all the investigations including abdominal USG are normal.
The condition is called functional or recurrent abdominal pain and there is no serious underlying abnormality.
Such children usually grow out the abdominal pain as they grows.
Giving antispasmodic like Drotaverine(Drotin) syrup provides relief in such condition.
This is a prescription medicine, so please get it prescribed by a physician.

Get her to a physician for evaluation if you find any significant abnormality associated with the pain or if pain persists for longer duration.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your child's good health.
Regards
