Question: my Husband 84 years old have Parkinson rigid since 4 years he have slow speaking and bed bound can't walk at all and is can't use is two arms.Is doctor put him in Carbidopa-Levodopa,and Carbodopa-ER ,4 times a days.Last 2 months he try him with NUedehta we stop because he gave him Diarrhea. What advise you can give me to do for him.My name is Lisette the wife and caregiver

Parkinsons is a age related degenerative disease of brain which progress.
The best management is keep physiotherapy and mobility.
Treatment drugs are available like levodopa, rasagiline, pramipexole, ropinirole, entacapone.
The doses needs to be titrated and increased according to response. Newer drugs are added one by one. Drugs like pacitane can be given for increased tone.
Surgical options are also available but requires preoperative assessment and cost.
Provide complete drug details with doses.

what means surgical op are available what type of surgical you are talking about.what I can ask my doctor.The medication Pacitane since he taking Carbidopa did he can go in that new medication better.

Deep brain stimulation is the surgery which gives benefits in selected patients.
You need to consult a movement disorder specialist or a neurosurgeon doing such operations regarding evaluation.
Pacitane will decrease the tone and help in the mobility of limbs.
It can be given with levodopa and carbidopa.
