Suggest Ayurvedic Treatment For Sore Throat And Sinus Infection

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Aug 2014
Question: For the past 8 days I have had a sore throat and stuffed up head with the sinus preasure. The mucus is thick and it is dark yellow when I first get up and then throughout the day it is very pale but still thick. I have done apple cider vinegar 3 times a day as well as green tea. My throat still is really bothering me but it is not red or swollen and seems to be due mostly to the thick mucus in the back/post nasal drip. What can I do to help this sinus infection? My health problems is I have an autonomic dysfunction called pots that I developed a year ago post pregnancy as well as Thyroid issues that still haven't gotten a full diagnosis (high antibodies and low tsh) that I am still looking into. Ever since I developed pots post pregnancy it seems I cannot tolerate any medicine and would like to avoid antibiotics at all costs. I am also allergic to many medicines as well. What can I do to help this sinus infection naturally? I also have a previous history of carcinoid cancer.

My diet has changed drastically in the last year. After the birth of my daughter in XXXXXXX 2013 I had a wide variety of symptoms from high heart rate, chest pain, dizziness, palpitations to gastrointestinal problems and chronic muscle aches and headaches. I was bed ridden for a few months and was diagnosed with pots and fibromyalgia and have new food allergies to wheat, soy, peanut, eggs, dairy. My diet consists of non processed foods. Mainly fruits and vegetables and rice and beans with natural juices and rice milk. no GMOs or preservatives and I eat only lean chicken and turkey. Since changing my diet I have improved dramatically and though I'm still not back to my old self I am functioning and able to work a few days at my family's restaurant. Though my stamina has improved I am exercise intolerant from the pots as my heart rate jumps too high and I will get short of breath and very dizzy with a blood pressure drop(this used to happen just doing daily activities). Laying down my heartrate is 60 and standing up my heartrate is around 95-100. I am currently taking no medications just 2tbs of apple cider vinegar in water daily and eating one clove of raw garlic a few times a week( both were being done even prior to getting this sinus infection). How much tumeric should I take for this sinus infection? I have some tumeric root powder at my house already. Do you recommend the netipot? In addition, carcinoid has been followed up thoroughly and has been gone since 2008(I had my appendix and half my colon removed). As far as my thyroid my tsh is .244 and thyroid antibodies are 28. My heart has been tested thoroughly and is structurally ok with no dangerous arrhythmias and I have ruled out lupus and rumethoid arthritis. My ana is normal. Thank you for taking the time to help me out and answer some questions.
