Is SGOT Level Of 120 A Cause For Concern?

Question: My sgot is 120
All other values in serum liver function test are within range.
What's wrong with me?

The SGOT levels are marginally raised and can be because of some non pathological reasons like consumption of alcohol, some hepatotoxic medicine, may be fatty meal etc

It would be better if you see a physician and get a clinical correlation done

Get the report repeated after 72 hours if it increases or remains raised, get a full liver panel and an abdominal ultrasound done

I've uploaded various reports, and my abdomen ultrasound report indicated all normal.
One thing I notice on the portion of the leg below my knee is - when I press with my pointed finger, there is pitting. Also on days I wear socks, End of the day I see depression where the top elastic of the socks was.
Is there anything out of place?

I am 41 year old female, highly active, a vegan, indulge in fruits and veggies, and do not like junk food. I am regular with my meals and finish my dinner by 7:30 pm - 8 pm.
I have taken up going to the gym in the last 1 week, and have been going for tennis classes for the last 1 month (every alternate day)

I appreciate the way you have provided the information and reports

Let us handle it one by one

1. Considering the fact that all other parameters except sgot are normal I would suggest you repeat it after a week and take some hepatoprotective medicine in the mean time and avoid fried foods

2. Regarding pitting oedema at your age dvt is common in females

Try elevation of limb while sleeping and do not keep feet hanging when sitting at rest

If this doesn't work go for a color doppler study of veins of lower limb

3. Your B12 levels are low add a B12 tablet daily for 3 months

Rest of your life is perfect continue it

What is your read of my ESR. That seems high as well

ESR is a non specific investigation a raised value associated with some clinical findings and system related high levels of investigations point to the pathology of that system

I would still suggest you repeat your investigations after a week or so
