Brief Answer:
Test prostate, kidney, liver function.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

He needs to check his prostate gland doing an ultrasound to see prostate measurements because prostate hypertrophy can cause urination problems. Also doing an uroculture is advisable in order to correctly treat an uti.
He should check liver and kidney function doing liver enzymes, bilirubin and ultrasound also creatinine, Albumin/creatinine ratio GFR.
Probably impaired kidney and liver function may increase the time the parkinson drugs remain in system.
Talk to neurologist for possible lowering dosage or change parkinson drugs.
Hope I have answered the question.

He has had the term procedure & takes meds for prostate many years ago. Has stopped taking Parkinson's med. Says it makes the dizziness worse. Sleeping alot. Weight loss and muscle loss. Wouldn't the Drs have found kidney problems in the bloodwork? What can I expect as the result of his stopping his meds? He only took them for a couple weeks. Says he's not going back to neurologist? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Neurologist visit is needed to discuss other treatment options.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.

I think he should have waited for another week to pass in order to make the Parkinson drugs work.
Going to the neurologist is necessary to talk about other medications which he can try.
The kidney function problems should have come out in blood chemistry.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
