Question: Hi...... I am using Estrace cream and woke up with vaginal spotting and irritation..... Should I use Monistat to treat symptoms?

Thanks for the query to HCM,
Esterase is to be used only twice or thrice a week and not daily for atrophic vaginitis. You may reduce the frequency of usage and watch for next 48hrs to see if the spotting stops. If the spotting continues for more than 48 hrs then you need to get a per speculum examination done to check the source of bleeding.

I am not using cream but once per week. And while I will schedule a follow up should I use Monistat for the itching and inflammation in the interim.

Hello,
If once a week then you are using it in low dosage. Itching and inflammation s due to atrophic vaginitis.
You may use MONISTAT cream for local application but unless there is a fungal infection it would not work. You may take CAP DOXYCYCLINE 100mg once a day for next 3 days along with TAB METROGYL twice a day for 3 days. This shall control the infective cause as well.
