Brief Answer:
butalbital is not a pain drug

Detailed Answer:
It is a sedative
narcotics can of course be fatal due to respiratory depression (not breathing) if too much is taken and this is more of an issue if other drugs that have the same effect are taken at the same time. Barbiturates like butalbital are among the most risky and have no benefit on pain and are not a good drug for anxiety.

The question might be can it be used safely for migraine. The amount of butalbitol in a migraine pill is about 1/5 the dose used for any other use (this is TINY). So, due to the dose of the butalbitol being TINY then even though the daily dose of hydrocodone (60 mg a day) being moderately HIGH, the risk is MINIMAL. This is provided the number of migraine pills isn't silly (3 a day is a bit high; MORE than 3 a day of the migraine pills would be concerning). the dose of butalbitol even with 4 migraine pills a day isn't a concern. The caffeine at that point would be getting to the toxic dose (almost 1000 mg a day!).
