Is There Any Risk Of Transmission Of STDs Through Shared Toilets?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Feb 2015
Question: I have a silly question to ask. I have have to let use my toilet sometimes to strangers, for example, such as a pizza delivery man or a cable repair man who comes to my house for 10 mins and they use my toilet , is it harmful?
I have child and also XXXXXXX person who resides in the house. My grandfather is old and is prone to UTI. I am scared that if that stranger from outside who uses my toilet has severe STD or even HIV infection, is there anyone we can get infected when we use the toilet after he leaves? Please advice

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic .

I read your query and understand your concern. There is no risk of transmission of the infection . Don't worry. But be careful the infected or outsider urine or any fluid shouldn't come in contact with you or your family people.

Just keep the toilet clean .

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further query I would love to help.

Brief Answer:
No risk

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is not possible to get infected by HIV infection if you sit over the urine of the infected person.

As such HIV won't get transmitted by exposure to urine. HIV transmission occurs due to significant exposure to body fluids and blood not urine, sweat and tears. So don't worry.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
