Brief Answer:
No relationship

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

There is no relationship between hashimoto thryroiditis and brucellosis. Brucellosis is an infection caused by a bacteria known as brucella transmitted by ingestion of infected food items. It is characterized by fever not responsive to usual antibiotics and lower back ache,
Hashimoto thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease where antibodies act on thyroid leading to hypothyroidism.
Each disease is of different pathogenesis and one does not lead to another

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Hello Dr. Madhyastha!

My English is bad, but I try to answer you, that you know my inducement to ask you at 1. November.

The signs of my disease started again with nervosity, unrest, sweating, hypertonia, spasm, dyskinesia, lower back pain and headpreasure about one jear ago.

Several weeks later I got hypotonia, poor cerebral vascularity and exhaustion.
But these symptoms sometimes interrupted again by nervosity and unrest.

I have a tough nonsensitive mass (2 cm x 1 cm) without redness, located in the right lobe of thyoride gland. But I have no fever or pain in the thyoride.
My alkaline phosphatase in serum is low.

One day I got a very heavy cramp for hours in my lower jaw.
After this I took Vitamin D + milk.
A short time later my tongue became folding and large white patches on its surface. My cerebral vaskularity was poor and I felt very bad.

Today I know, the cause of all these symptoms, were primary not thyorid gland or the parathyorid gland, but it was a disorder of hypophysis and hypothalamusfunction via bacteria (brucella).

Because I was cut from therapeutic medical help, I was forced to get help by myself.
- I took lots of natural antibiotics. That helped a little.
- I drunk Orange juice, slowly sip by sip, and try so to strength the immune system. Vitamin C has an effect on the sympathetic system and because my nervs reacts very sentitive as a result of my disease, I couldn't drink Orange juice at all time, because sometimes I became spasm.
- Sometimes I drunk saltwater. This helps very much, when I felt bad.

I looked for an explanation, why saltwater helped me during the brucellosis infection and I want to tell you shortly, the result.

- Patients with brucellose have high serum calcium levels [1].
- Intracellular calcium-ion levels play a key role in the intracellular replication of brucella abortus within phagocytes. brucella abortus proliferate within phagocytic host cells and thereby successfully bypass the bacteriocidal effects of phagocytes.
brucella abortus infection increased the calcium-ion level within macrophages - from wild-type mice. [2]
- brucella are intracellular bacteria.
- If brucella infects a nerve-cell and there the same effect would occur than in the phagocyte, then the intracellular calcium-ion level of the neuron would increase.
- But if the calcium-ion level within the nerve-cell increases, the resting potential and the stimulus threshold for the action potential of the nerve-cell would change. [3]S.149f, 93
This would have the conclusion, that in this case the nerve-cell would not work - correctly any longer.
- The passive inwardflow of natrium-ions in a nerve- cell causes an outwardflow of calcium-ions. [3]S.150
That may be the reason, why saltwater helps, because the natrium-ions reduces the intracellular calcuim-ions of the infected nerve-cell.

I am not a biochemist but this is my attempt to explain, why saltwater helps by brucella-infection, when Antibiotics are not available.

But there are also disadvantiges. My nerve-system is so sensitive, that I could drink XXXXXXX 2 glasses of saltwater a day and only two days successively. Otherwise I would get heavy cramps.
And the effect is only very short, because the salt doesn't defeat the bacteria.

But in the time I felt very very bad, saltwater saves me really.

When I felt better, I reduces saltwater because I want to avoid cramps and spasms.
(When I took Antibiotics it was usually not helpful to drink saltwater.)

Then I got Doxycyclin from Switzerland. I took 200 mg/d according to the package leaflet. But a few days later I felt bad (pseudotumor ceribri) and I had to stop the medication.
But then I recognized the reason for the side-effects. In my case
neurobrucellose - basal meningitis - hypopyse/hypothalamusdysfunction,
I had to reduce the dosage, because of the sensitivity of my nerve-system. So I took 100 mg/d and pseudotumor ceribri was no problem any longer.

Doxycyclin is efficient and often I notice on which location my nerve-system is in action actually, to regenerate itself (usually afferent vegetative nerves and basal meninges). But often, in the moment, when afferent vegetative nervs get finally in contact with the hypothalamus, a short moment later the thyroid gland on the other side, and vegetative nervs in other parts of my body started to make problems.
Then the blood-supply in these parts is lower and some problems started again.

But all in all I feel much better after I took Antibiotics and I am quite confident.

I asked you at 1. November, because I read that there is a relation between borrelosis and hashimoto thyreoiditis and I wanted to know if this is valid for brucellosis too.

Thank you very much for your help Dr. Madhyastha.

Kind regards
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I commend the amount of knowledge you have collected.
Here is what I think
1. continue to take antibiotics, however I recommend a this generation cephalosporin like cefixime as well, this is because you haven't proved serologically that you indeed have this infection
2. keep a check on your renal function and complete blood count
3. make sure that your thyroid function is within normal limits
4. there is no relationship between hashimoto and brucellosis
